Andy Jessy, the CEO of e-commerce giant Amazon, is optimistic about crypto and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). He thinks cryptos will continue to grow “over time,” and NFTs will continue growing “very significantly.”

Andy Jassy, CEO of Amazon, spoke to CNBC about cryptocurrency and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). During the summer of last year, Jassy replaced Jeff Bezos as company president and CEO. As a founder of Amazon Web Services (AWS), he has led its development since 2003.

Among what concerns Amazon’s decision on whether the platform will accept cryptocurrency for payments of products, the CEO said, “We aren’t very near to adding crypto as a payment mechanism in our retail business.”

Crypto experts have been hired by the e-commerce giant for various divisions. The position posted by AWS last year is for a principal digital asset specialist who can “help drive adoption throughout the global digital asset community.”

Lastly, Amazon posted a job offer for a digital currency expert to its Payment Acceptance & Customer Experience team in June last year with a view to developing its digital currency and blockchain strategy and a product roadmap.
