According to the official announcement, TIME, a global media brand that reaches a combined audience of more than 100 million worldwide, stated that digital subscriptions have been launched with the new partnership with a crypto platform and accepted cryptocurrency as a new payment method.

After fully accepting the cryptocurrency, Time announced that subscribers who pay with cryptocurrency can have unlimited access for 18 months with special events and offers for their subscribers. However, cryptocurrency will not be accepted for one-time purchases. Subscription purchases are currently only available in the USA and Canada. In the future, it is expected that the application will be offered to all users globally.

TIME President Keith Grossman stated that within their 2.3 million active subscriptions, it would continue to innovate and find new ways on their existing subscribers, and they are proud to introduce the new payment option with the partnerships provided.

In addition, TIME Chief Technology Officer Bharat Krish stated that they are very excited to offer cryptocurrency as a new payment option for their digital subscribers and the rapid transformation of Time Magazine for their community is the result of their commitment to work with innovative companies, such as the partnerships they have established to adopt continuous technologies and bring their ideas to life.

This move by TIME Magazine is not the first development in the field of crypto. In March, they joined the NFT trend by holding three exclusive cover auctions in digital format. The special edition covers featured the NFT version of one of the magazine’s most iconic covers: “Is God Dead?” from the issue first published on April 8, 1966.

The other two NFT covers are “Is Truth Dead?” and “Is Fiat Dead?” respectively. The latter was the first magazine cover designed as NFT only.
