Emirates Airlines, one of the leading airlines in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), said it plans to add “bitcoin as a payment service.” Recruiting consultants to create applications that monitor client needs is planned for the airline.
Emirates Airlines, the leading airline in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will soon begin using bitcoin as a payment service, CEO Adel Ahmed Al-Redha says. Additionally, the airline will add non-fungible token (NFT) collectibles on its website.
Several weeks after it revealed its NFT and metaverse plans, reports reveal the airline’s plan to embrace bitcoin. The company aims to ensure the airline aligns with the UAE’s vision for the digital economy.
Al Redha mentioned in Arab News that his company may need to recruit employees to assist in developing applications that monitor customer needs. Aside from this, he also discussed the differences between NFTs and the metaverse. He explained:
“NFTs and metaverse are two different applications and approaches. With the metaverse, you will be able to transform your whole processes — whether it is in operation, training, sales on the website, or complete experience — into a metaverse type application, but more importantly making it interactive.”
